Harbor Breeze fan lights start to flash after 10 minutes

A site visitor recently asked the following question: They had a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan (model is unknown) that worked without any issue for a number of years in their home. After that time, when the lights are turned on, they would blink. The blinking would begin approximately within about 10 minutes after being turned on. The bulb type is LED, however it was changed to LED some time back.

Answer: The answer that another site visitor posted is the following.

Try taking of the lamps and changing it back to incandescent. It may be that the lamp controller requires a constant drain as opposed to how an LED lamp drains. Over time, lamp controllers age and they get “used to” the behavior that they have always had. A sudden change in that behaviour can cause some of the issues you’re experiencing. Although it seems strange to us, it’s perfectly normal to the lamp controller because the lamp controller is used to doing things in a certain way. You may be in a situation where the lamp controller is used to a specific current, and variations of that current is causing the lamp controller to not be able to adjust to the change.

How can I fix my ceiling fan light blinking?

Great question. Take a look at this video below. In the video, you can see the ceiling fan is continually blinking on and off. It’s quite annoying and you can’t really use the fan in this state. The gentleman in the video takes the fan apart, identifies the bad part and replaces it. This video walks you through troubleshooting this problem end to end.
